3D Design

We started off by learning about an artist with very abstract techniques. We were shown lots of examples of his art. Then we were guided through making our bases and shapes. We then outlined every shape, front and back. Then we used up to three different colors to create designs on our shape. We were told to be creative. Then when it came time to make it 3D we cut slits into the paper where we wanted it to stand up. We cut slits on both pieces were they were touching.

Extension Activity:

Students could read a book and use this to create a summary of the book. Each shape being a different part of the book. They could have a shape for the hook, climax, problem, solution, and ending. Creating a story through art and 3D design.
