2D Paper

The students have already learned about habitats and their characteristics. They then would review the habitats and characteristics. After reviewing they learned about a artist by the name of, Favianna Rodriguez, who used her art to advocate for nature. They then filled out a graphic organizer where they were to draw two habitats and write one sentence about their characteristics. Then they could get started on their paper polaroid. They were to create a habitat using layers of paper over the top of one another. They were required to use three layers and when done they glued everything in to the pre-cut polaroid frame. Also, gluign down the frame. They then wrote down their characteristic sentence and turned it in.

Extension Activity:
It could be a good idea to incorperate geography into this lesson. They could create a biome or habitat of the country/state/ city that you are learning about that week. For example, if it was a city like Portland they could create skyscrapers and roads in their polaroid instead of animal habitat.
